This week on the last Top Gear of the series, Richard took part in the Pamplona Bull Run and drove the Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster. Jeremy drove the Ford F150 Lightning pick-up truck, which is inexplicably the world’s best-selling car and described it as the worst car he had ever driven. James put his degree in music to fine use by trying to re-create the Top Gear theme tune using car engines. Richard tries a bit of drifting in the Monaro with the D1 drifting team.

Jeremy went to meet his maker, Richard nearly went to meet his maker, and James exhibited a level of daring not yet seen from everyone’s favourite gentleman. Jeremy, James and Richard look at the latest range of off-road toys: quad bikes, hovercrafts and buggies; James travels to Dubai to test the fastest four-door saloon in the world – the Bentley Flying Spur; Richard travels to Iceland to see if a jeep can drive across a lake and Jeremy compares the BMW 5 Series diesel to the petrol version – in Woking. Davina McCall is this week’s Star in a Reasonably Priced Car; F1 driver Mark Webber also sets a lap-time in the Liana.

James and Richard spend the evening as ’scootermen’. Scootermen provide a service whereby they will drive you home in your own car if you have had too much to drink; they arrive on tiny scooters which can be folded away and placed in the boot of the car. By doing this, they get to drive different cars and test them at the same time. Whilst they do that, Jeremy gets to drive three hot hatchbacks: the Volkswagen Golf GTI; the Renault Megane Sport and the Vauxhall Astra VXR. To make up for having to drive a Vauxhall, he also test-drives the new BMW M5. Chris Evans is the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car.

The lads take three convertibles to Iceland – the land of geological lunacy. Specifically, they are the Chrysler Crossfire, Nissan 350Z and the Audi TT. The Ferrari F430 finally makes an appearance at the Top Gear test track, in Berlinetta and Spyder form, and in the studio, a CitroÃ«n C2 hatchback which has had more than Â£100,000 lavished on it. Sir Tim Rice is the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car.

Richard goes to the NÃ¼rburgring Nordschleife to see if Sabine Schmitz can do a lap of the infamous track in a Transit van in under 10 minutes. Jeremy races a Fiat Panda against a marathon runner around the London Marathon circuit during the Tuesday morning rush-hour and the TVR Sagaris is featured.

London to Oslo: Jeremy drives the Mercedes McLaren SLR from London to Oslo, while Richard and James take the ferry across the North Sea. This is the third of the epic Top Gear races designed to prove that the car is better than public transport. The Nissan Micra, CitroÃ«n C6 and Alfa Romeo Brera are featured, as is the Aston Martin DBR9. David Dimbleby is the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car.

Former F1 World Champion Damon Hill sets a time in the Liana as a Racing Driver in a Reasonably Priced Car. The Aston Martin DB5 and Jaguar E-Type are compared; the snipers of the Irish Guards try to shoot Jeremy as he drives the new Mercedes SLK and the new Porsche Boxster 2 around a deserted village.

James drives the new 4×4 from Nissan, the Murano and Richard travels to Italy to drive the Maserati Gran Sport around the Maserati test track. Whilst there, he will see how close he can get to a lap-time set by the Maserati test driver, Gabrielle Tarquini.

The lads hand over testing duties to their mothers to review a range of new small cars:. They test the Renault Modus, Honda Jazz and Peugeot 1007. Jeremy drives an American car; the Cadillac CTS-V and will probably hate it. Richard tests ‘Mondeo man’s’ new favourite car, the new BMW 3 Series and there’s an incident with a limo, a caravan and a wedding party. This week’s ‘Star in a Reasonably Priced Car’ is Omid Djalili, “Britain’s funniest Iranian stand-up comedian”.

Jeremy makes a splash when he drives a Rolls Royce Silver Shadow MK1 to the opening of a local swimming pool; Richard drives the Aston Martin DB9 Volante and James goes back to the decade that to this day, provides Jeremy’s wardrobe – the 1970’s – to drive the Maserati Bora.

The German-built retro-styled Weissman MF3 is compared to the TVR Tuscan MKII. There’s also a look at the Batmobile – yes really! Christopher Ecclestone [Dr. Who] swaps the Tardis for a Toyota Liana as this week’s Star in a Reasonably Priced Car.

The challenge this week is to buy a coupÃ© that is not a Porsche for a maximum price of Â£1,500. Richard buys a BMW 635i, Jeremy a Mitsubishi Starion and James bought a “grandfather clock”. Or the Jaguar XJS as it was better-known. Jeremy drives the new supercar from Maserati, the MC12 and Jack Dee is the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car.
